Andrey Beat.c's mural for the Smena public art festival

In Sagan-Nur, Beat.c created a new work for the Smena public art festival. The mural became part of a series of facade paintings by a team of artists working in the settlement: Aris Oner, Alexey Barkhan, Denis Dendi and Anatoly Akue. The project is placed on one of the central facades and was designed with the architecture and visual traditions of the area in mind.

Before starting, the artists studied the specifics of the region and local materials, which became the basis for the visual concept of the project. Beat.c's work is one of the festival murals created in industrial towns and workers' settlements during the programme.

The Smena festival is organised by the Melnichenko Foundation and curator Vladimir Abikh. The first edition featured invited artists and winners of the open call, including Ilya Mozgi, Stanislav Metelsky, Irina Strelnikova, Alexey Mednoy, Kirill Vedernikov, Ziya Mansur, Vasily Bazelevs, Nadya.O, Ilya Wince Malomoshchenko, Andrey Berger, Vasily Karmazin, Ivan Ninety, Roman Muratkin, Artem Stefanov and Sergey Acse.

The project in Sagan-Nur is presented as part of the festival programme aimed at developing public art and working with the urban environment in industrial areas.
